Hopelessness is what the world has
the world owns many things
hopes of getting richer maybe
temporal hope it brings

it’s not been reported yet
of riches found in hell
but the streets paved on heaven’s strand
are golden I hear tell

and treasures stored upon the earth
may gratify awhile
but what can one take to his grave
if one should die in style

but treasures stores up in heaven
never become corrupt
enjoying them forever more
where nothing can disrupt

worldly power it is hopeless
what good does it all do
when manipulated by selfishness
and then one’s life is through

but a child of God has power
indwelt within his being
and hope that brings life eternal
resurrection believing

where a soul passes unto life
everlasting in love
hope from faith turned unto Jesus
hope turned to sight above
